I just read the section "Requirements for doing a normal installation". It says:
Please note that Apache 2.x for Windows only exists in "threaded" mode and thus it should not be used to run an Exponential solution on Windows.
The OS on my PC is Windows XP. The web server on my PC is Apache 2.2.0. Is it possible for me to install Exponential 3.9 on my PC?
Thanks!

Thought about a complete package from apache friends? There you got XAMPP for Windows and a Beta for Vista. It is running out of the box and is a good solution for testing.

I am running an upgraded Easyphp1-8, a Windows-Apache-Mysql-PHP package with eAccelerator and php4.4 on my PC. Works nicely.
Maybe you should give it a try : http://www.easyphp.org/telechargements.php3

Maybe slightly off topic, but... I would recommend linux virtual machine running under WinXP. Much easier to setup a good development environment. I've tried running Exponential under XP, nothing ever went smooth...
