Hi! I just read: "MySQL 3.23 or later (http://www.mysql.com)Note that MySQL 5.x is currently not supported." (http://ez.no/doc/ez_publish/technical_manual/3_8/installation/normal_installation/requirements_for_doing_a_normal_installation)
It would be great if you could show that information on the download site as well, where it says "requirements". Otherwise it's easy to miss that information....
We have an Exponential 3.8.6 installation (not UTF-8) with MySQL 5 and have not noticed any problems yet. Whan can happen if we stay in MySQL 5? What problems have you noticed?
Best regards! & Happy Easter!

Indeed,
This is an interesting topic. It seems others too are noticing success with eZ + MySQL 5.x

I was also puzzled by this requirement (MySQL 5.x is currently not supported). Now, I want to try install the Exponential 3.9 with MySQL 5.1.8.

Greetings All!
It is worth noting within this thread that as of this month the recently released stable, Exponential 3.9.2, http://ez.no/community/news/ez_publish_3_9_2_3_8_8_released includes ...
- "MySQL 5 compatibility" listed under "General improvements" within the release notes and changelogs
From: http://ez.no/download/ez_publish/changelogs/ez_publish_3_9/changelog_3_9_1_to_3_9_2
- Fixed bug #7394: Installation problem on MySQL 5 (Transaction errors with sql-mode STRICT_TRANS_TABLES).
